Richard Rwanda-IMPUHWE organization (RRI) supports educational opportunities for girls in Rwanda, providing financial aid to low-income girls in Nyamata, enhancing their ability to earn income and become community leaders.
Objectives:
- Enable girls to finish primary school and attend 6 years of secondary school
- Reduce discrimination preventing girls from completing their education
- Develop cross-cultural exchange program between Seattle high school students and girls in Nyamata and Kigali Rwanda
- Support mentorship by girls from Fawe Girls School in the capital of Kigali to low-income girls in Nyamata
- Collaborate with NGOs in Rwanda to support girls in completing secondary school
- Teach Seattle high school students about fund-raising, proposal and grant writing
- Increase community awareness and understanding of Rwandan genocide by organizing rememberance events and community outreach activities
- Build and support an educational library for use by the women of Kigali
